The Centre for the Advancement of Language Competence (CALC) provides a preparatory workshop to help MUET candidates prepare for their test. The workshop is open to all candidates nationwide. The annual workshop first took place in May 2021 with 27 participants, and 18 participants in the October session the same year. The participants were students from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Matriculation Colleges and Polytechnics. On top of that, teachers and lecturers from different institutions also joined the workshop.

The online MUET Preparatory Workshop this year was held on 12 and 13 March 2022. The two-day workshop was packed with essential information regarding the format, techniques and the skills required to be able to ace the test with flying colours. 10 participants joined the programme this year from all over Malaysia. 

Two experienced MUET teachers handled the workshop. Ms. Nurin Erdiani and Ms. Nur Mazliyana have been involved with Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia (MPM) and MUET for almost 10 years. Their vast knowledge regarding the test, combined with their cheerful personality made the workshop a fun experience. 

The workshop was divided into 4 sessions with each session focusing on a different skill: speaking, writing, listening and reading. Thanks to the eagerness of the participants and the expertise of the teachers, all workshop participants managed to work through all the practice materials, lecture notes and sample questions throughout the   2-day workshop. In addition, to make things more convenient for the participants, all the sessions were recorded so that the participants will be able to revise the content of the workshop anytime.
