Serdang, 7 April 2023 - Centre for the Advancement of Language Competence (CALC) organized a bubur lambuk giveaway today. The target receipients were citizens of UPM. The event was spearheaded by CALC's Welfare Club (WeCALC).

Cooking of the traditional porridge began early in the morning under the watchful eyes of head chef, En. Mohd Rafie Suhaimi and his team of experienced cooks. 20 kilogrammes of rice were used to cook the porridge. Citizens of CALC also assisted in the preparation of the ingredients such as dried shrimp, vegetables, chicken and meat.

Preparation began as early as 8.00 in the morning and the cooking process was completed around 2.00 pm. Packing of the porridge began immediately.

The packed porridge were distributed at the following locations:

Bus Stop in front of Academic Complex A

UPM MRT Station

Bus Stop in front of the Big Hall

Kolej Serumpun Dining Hall

Gate 9 (near Serdang Lake)

The severe thunderstorm did not deter the CALC distribution from completing their task. All the porridges were distributed with 30 minutes.

Positive reviews were given for the porridge for its tastiness and not skimping on the ingredients.

It is hoped this event will be repeated next year.
