The Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) is an advanced level standardised examination for adult non-native speakers of English. The test is intended for:
i) Students applying to educational institutions where the language of instruction is English.
ii) Professionals who need English for work or training purposes.
iii) Anyone interested in obtaining a general assessment of their English language proficiency for educational or employment opportunities.

Test of Communication in English (TOCIE) tests the competency of candidates to converse in English. Candidates (5 in a session) are given 15 minutes to discuss a topic given by the examiner. Candidates must obtain Band 4 to pass the TOCIE.
