Serdang, July 18 - The Centre for the Advancement of Language Competence (CALC) offers various language courses and workshops to university students as well as the public. These language courses also include the MUET Preparatory Workshop for MUET candidates nationwide. This workshop that takes place annually was first conducted in 2021 for two sessions with 30 participants. Participants were students from various local universities such as Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Matriculation Colleges and Polytechnics.

The first series for the online MUET Preparatory Workshop this year was held on 3^rd and 4^th  June. The two-day online workshop was filled with key information including the format, techniques and skills required to ace the test. For this series, a total of 14 participants participated from all over Malaysia.

The workshop was handled by two experienced MUET trainers from CALC, Ms. Najwa Munira Mohd Karim and Ms. Farrah Mohd Basri, who both have extensive experience and knowledge of the test. The workshop was divided into four different sessions which included all four test components: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Overall, it was a fruitful and engaging workshop. Participants had the opportunity to learn test taking strategies, work through sample test papers and receive feedback from the trainers. Apart from that, post-workshop support was also provided to all workshop participants to facilitate and assist them with the test preparation.
